Reconstruction of health services in Nepal

Project overview

Project content: Reconstruction of health services in five VDC districts

Where: District of Dhading, west of Kathmandu in earthquake core area

Projektpartner: Karuna Trust and Green Tara Nepal

Budget: 50.000 € total

Duration: May 2015 to April 2018

Together with Karuna Trust UK, we are helping the Green Tara team to rebuild health services in one of the regions most affected by the earthquake. Especially young mothers, pregnant women and children benefit. The nearest hospital is only a few hours walk away. So it is a blessing for the families to rebuild the existing resources. Until all health stations are repaired, the mother groups meet in large WHO tents. The community helpers are trained to look after the families and to advise and help with all health issues. All topics related to pregnancy and childbirth as well as infant care are particularly important. This also includes education against child marriage and early pregnancies.
